Mac Smith is a graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Northwestern University, and The Ohio State University College of Law.
Mac Smith began his professional legal career in 1966, practicing with his father J. Ewing Smith. Mac initially worked as a trial lawyer, taking court appointed criminal cases, working on civil trials, particularly insurance cases involving automobile accidents, and some divorce cases.
Since the early 1990's Mac has focused his practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, probate and trust law, real estate, and business law. Mac's approach to client service centers on addressing clients' pre-death and post-death concerns and wishes, including addressing Medicaid concerns and assisting clients with the transfer of wealth and assets to children and beneficiaries.
Mac has achieved an AV peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
Mac Smith is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, and has served on the Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law section, for many years, and is a past member of the OSBA Council of Delegates. Mac is a member and past president of the Logan County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in all Ohio courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Mac has served and held offices in numerous local charitable and non-profit organizations.
Mac and his wife Carol have three sons, who are also attorneys. Mac and his wife enjoy family and sporting events and anything involving their eight grandchildren.
William R. Montgomery

Bill Montgomery is a graduate of Fremont Ross High School, Ohio University, and the Ohio State University College of Law.
After graduating from Ohio University with a degree in history and English, Bill taught English in public schools prior to entering law school at The Ohio State University.
After law school, Bill joined Smith, Smith, & Montgomery, and practices in the areas of civil trial litigation, contracts and business transactional matters, real estate, estate planning and administration, guardianship and probate administration, and trust law and administration.
Bill is a member and past president of the Logan County Bar Association and a Sustaining Member and former District Delegate of Ohio State Bar Association. He is also a member of the Ohio Bar Foundation and is admitted to practice in all Ohio courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Bill and his wife Karen are actively involved in various community, non-profit and charitable organizations, and enjoy outdoor sporting activities, music, and the arts. Bill is a past President of the local United Way, Hilliker YMCA, Kiwanis Club, International Friendship Center, and Community Concerts Associations.
Bill has served on the Board of Directors of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, Logan County Board of Elections, Ohio Mental Health Board, Ohio Legal Rights Services Board, Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership, Mad River Theatre Works, Congressional U.S. Academy Review Board, and numerous other boards and organizations.
Douglas M. Smith

Doug Smith is a graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Northwestern University, and University of Toledo College of Law.
After college and law school, Doug returned to his hometown of Bellefontaine to join his father and grandfather in the practice of law.
Doug's practice focuses on real estate law, including title insurance, closing, and title examination services for residential, commercial, and agricultural transactions. Doug's work also includes estate and trust planning and administration, probate law, and business law.
Doug Smith is admitted to practice law in all courts in the State of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Supreme Court.
Doug has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Logan County Education Foundation and the Logan County Land Trust.
Doug is a member of Kiwanis Club, the Ohio State Bar Association, is a member of the OSBA Council of Delegates, and is a past President of the Logan County Bar Association.
Doug and his wife Beth enjoy their children's sports, school, and art activities.
Matthew R. Chamberlain

Matt is a graduate of Indian Lake High School, Miami University, and University of Toledo College of Law.
Matt Chamberlain practices primarily in the areas of estate and trust planning and administration, probate law, real estate law, including title insurance, closing, and title examination services, business and transactional law.
Matt regularly advises agricultural and small business clients about business organization and family succession planning.
Before returning to Logan County to the private practice of law, Matt served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Ohio Attorney General's Office in Columbus, Ohio.
In addition to private practice work, Matt serves as the Solicitor for multiple Logan County villages.
Matt is admitted to practice law in all courts in the State of Ohio, the United States District Court for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Matt has served as a member of the Board of directors for the Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce, Logan Acres Community Foundation, and is a past president of the Logan County Bar Association. Matt is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio Township Trustees Association, and Logan County Farm Bureau.
Matt and his wife Kiki enjoy their children's youth sports teams and school art and music activities, outdoors sports activities, and spending time at Indian Lake.
Kaileigh B. Vermillion

Kaileigh is a graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Wittenberg University, and Ohio Northern University, Pettit College of Law.
Before returning to her hometown of Bellefontaine to practice law Kaileigh worked as a Senior Human Resources Consultant in Lima, Ohio.
Kaileigh is admitted to practice law in all courts in the State of Ohio and is a member of the Logan County and Ohio State Bar Associations. Kaileigh is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, a current member of the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District Board of Trustees, and a 2023 Ohio State Bar Foundation Fellow.
Outside of the office Kaileigh enjoys spending time outdoors and spending time with her family, especially her husband Zach and son Adrian.
Silas Augsburger

Silas is a graduate of Riverside High School, Urbana University, and the University of Dayton School of Law.
After beginning his legal career in Dayton, Ohio, Silas returned home to Logan County to practice law at Smith, Smith, Montgomery & Chamberlain, LLC. He practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, estate administration and probate, real estate, including closing and title examination services, and general business law.
He is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio and is a member of the Logan County and Ohio State Bar Associations.
Outside the office, Silas spends his time with his wife, Maggie, and their family and friends. He enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, and reading.
